8h30 Panel Feminism and Democracy

Two speakers will have 15 minutes each to discuss the challenges regarding the main subject of the Encounter: Radicalization of Feminism and Democracy.
9h30 Discussion Groups: Feminism and Democracy

Using four core questions regarding poverty, violence and power, as a guide, Discussion Groups will be prompted to analyze the main subject of the Encounter.

14h30 (2:30pm) Complex Dialogues

Feminism and strategies for facing racism in a democratic Latin America

Format for Complex Dialogues: A black feminist from the region, related to the black women’s movement, will be invited to share with a woman feminist well known in the movement. A moderator will present some issues previously detailed for their consideration. Participants will ask questions to be debated. Four simultaneous dialogues on the same subject and with a duration of one hour will be held.
16 a 19h (4-7pm) Registered Activities

Activities will be proposed by the participants – workshops, meetings, cultural activities, etc. – and their purpose is to share experiences, and political structures among groups, coalitions, networks, organizations and activists.

Feminism against ethnocentrism for a democratic Latin America

Format: A feminist, native from the region and related to the native women’s movement, will be invited to share with a woman feminist, well known in the movement. Participants will ask questions to be debated. Four simultaneous dialogues on the same subject and with a duration of one hour will be held.

10h Complex Dialogues

Feminism, youth and power: in search of alternatives to commercial exploitation and alienation

Format: A young feminist from the region, related to the young women’s feminist movement, will be invited to share with a woman feminist well known in the movement. Participants will ask questions to be debated. Four simultaneous dialogues on the same subject and with a duration of one hour will be held.

Feminism and lesbianism: sexualities and democracy

Format: A feminist lesbian, related to the lesbian movement, will be invited to share with a woman feminist, well known in the movement. Participants will ask questions to be debated. Four simultaneous dialogues on the same subject and with a duration of one hour will be held.

Four speakers will have 10 minutes each to discuss the current challenges for feminism as a social and political transformation movement.

9h30 Discussion Groups: Present and Future of Feminism in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Observation: During hours from 8 to 15h (8am to 3pm) meeting rooms may be reserved for alternative activities during the 10th Encounter, as agreed by participants.
